Knowledge scope is the extent of information the Assistant can access and understand.

We offer three options:

  • General knowledge: This includes your documents along with the full breadth of knowledge from the GPT-4o language model.

  • Topic knowledge: This includes your documents and only the relevant topics based on your documents, the prompt, and the user input.

  • Document only: This limits the Assistant's knowledge to only the information in the documents you upload. It does not have access to the LLM.

Training data is the information you upload to customize your Nectir AI Assistant's knowledge base. This personalization ensures that the AI provides responses tailored to you and your users' specific needs.

Define your Knowledge Scope and Upload Training Data

  1. Click next to the Assistant's name to access Assistant Settings.

  2. Click on the " Knowledge" in the sidebar.

  3. Define your knowledge scope by selecting either "General knowledge", "Limited knowledge", or "Document only."

  4. Click “Save changes”.

  5. Upload training data by clicking “ Upload training data” and selecting the files from your computer.

    • **Note: If your knowledge scope is set to "Document only" and no documents are uploaded, your Assistant will not have access to any knowledge.

    • 💡 When thinking about what to upload, consider the information you know the LLM will not have access to. For example:

      • Information about your course, program, project

      • Information unique to your campus

      • Concepts/Terminology that is specific to your program

      • Dates, deadlines, logistical information

  6. Make sure the status is green and says "Trained" before asking the Assistant about the information in the file.

Supported file formats:

Plaintext

.txt .text .eml .msg .html .md

Images

.jpg .jpeg .png .tiff .bmp .heif

Documents

.pdf .pptx .docx

You can upload as many training files as you would like. There is a limit of 25MB per a file.

💡Tip: Currently, Nectir AI cannot accept video files. Instead, you can upload the text transcript of the video for similar results.
