Training data is the information you upload to customize your Nectir AI Assistant’s knowledge base. This personalization ensures that the AI provides responses tailored to your specific needs and course materials.

What to Upload

Course Information

Upload your syllabus, course materials, assignments, and any content specific to your course or program.

Campus-Specific Content

Include information unique to your campus, policies, procedures, and institutional guidelines.

Specialized Terminology

Add documents containing concepts, terminology, or jargon specific to your field or program.

Logistical Details

Include dates, deadlines, schedules, and any time-sensitive information your Assistant should know.
Important: Focus on content that AI models won’t have in their training data. This includes your specific course materials, institutional policies, and unique program requirements.

File Limits: You can upload unlimited files with a maximum size of 150MB per file. Our AI can now process video and audio files directly, extracting both visual and audio content for comprehensive understanding.

Getting Started

Access Assistant Settings

Click on your Assistant and select Settings on the top right of the page

Navigate to Knowledge Tab

Click on the Knowledge tab in the sidebar

Choose Upload Method

Select your preferred upload method:

LMS Import

Import content directly from your Learning Management System

Manual Upload

Upload files directly from your computer

Verify Training Status

Wait for the status to show green and say “Trained” before asking the Assistant about the information in the file

Managing Your Training Files

Once uploaded, you can manage your training files through the Assistant knowledge settings. Each file has a dropdown menu (three dots) that provides three key actions:

Start Small

Begin with essential course materials and gradually add more content as needed.

Use Clear Names

Give your files descriptive names that reflect their content and purpose.

Organize by Topic

Group related materials together and consider your file naming strategy.

Test Regularly

Verify that your Assistant can access and use the information you’ve uploaded.
