Conversation starters remove initial barriers by providing suggested inputs that support users to engage with their Assistants.
What Are Conversation Starters
Conversation starters are pre-defined prompts that help users begin interacting with your AI Assistant. They serve as suggested entry points that:
- Remove barriers to engagement for new users
- Guide users toward productive interactions
- Showcase your Assistant’s capabilities
- Encourage exploration of your Assistant’s knowledge
Creating Effective Conversation Starters
Access Assistant Settings
Click the three dots next to the Assistant’s name to open the settings menu
Navigate to Conversation Starters
Select Conversation starter in the sidebar navigation
Add Your Starters
Create up to 4 conversation starters or prompts (50 characters maximum per starter)
Focus on creating prompts based on:
- Common questions users might have
- Sentence stems that can lead to informative responses
- Interesting questions that may spark a learner’s curiosity
- Examples that showcase your Assistant’s specialized knowledge
Save Your Changes
Click Save changes to apply your conversation starters
Example Conversation Starters
For a Course Assistant
- “What are the course deadlines this week?”
- “Can you explain the concept of topic?”
- “How do I prepare for the upcoming exam?”
- “What resources are available for subject?”
For a Student Support Assistant
- “How do I register for classes?”
- “What financial aid options are available?”
- “Where can I find tutoring services?”
- “How do I access the library resources?”
