Duplicate a course
Learn how to duplicate an existing course and its assistants.
What happens when you duplicate a course?
Course Copy
A new course with the same name plus “Copy” will be created
Assistants
All Assistants from the original course will be duplicated
Settings
Course and Assistant settings will be preserved, but members will not be duplicated
Ownership
You will be the Owner of the new course
When to use course duplication
- Create a template for multiple course sections
- Save a backup before making major changes
- Quickly set up a new version for a new semester
- Create a testing environment for new configurations

Only Course Owners and Workspace Owners/Editors can duplicate courses.
Hover over the course on the left sidebar and click the three dots to access Course Settings
Click "Duplicate Course"
A duplicate course with the same name ending in "Copy" will appear on the sidebar
All Assistants within the course will also be duplicated
After duplicating, you may want to rename the course to something more specific than “Copy”.
