If you’re an instructor trying to add Nectir to a course you already teach, go directly to Add Nectir to a Canvas Course. The page you’re on now is for the one-time institution-level setup performed by your Canvas administrator and a Nectir Workspace owner.
Step 1: Configure Canvas LTI Integration
Before anyone at your institution can use Nectir AI in Canvas, your Canvas administrator must install and configure the LTI integration. This establishes the connection between Canvas and Nectir AI. For detailed instructions, see the Canvas LTI Guided Setup.Access Control: During setup, your Canvas administrator chooses which Canvas accounts can access Nectir AI. If the integration is configured at the school-wide level, anyone can add it to their course. If not, individual instructors may need to request access before they can add Nectir AI to their courses.
Step 2: Configure LMS Role Mapping
Once the LTI integration is in place, configure how Canvas roles map to Nectir roles in your Workspace. This determines what permissions users receive when they access Nectir AI through Canvas. For detailed instructions, see the LMS Role Mapping section in Workspace Management.Step 3: Hand Off to Instructors
Once LTI is installed and role mapping is configured, instructors can add Nectir to their Canvas courses in four ways: in the course navigation sidebar, inside a page, inside an assignment, or inside a module.Add Nectir to a Canvas Course
