Common Issues
- Assistant doesn’t appear in Canvas course navigation → Contact your LMS administrator
- Nectir prompts you to log in inside Canvas → Allow third-party cookies
- Nectir prompts you to confirm the connection every time you log into Canvas → Allow third-party cookies
- You can’t see the Assistants your instructor invited you to → Contact your instructor
- A student’s email in the Members list doesn’t match your Canvas roster → The Members list shows the email of the account each user signed in with. With the Canvas LTI integration, access depends on enrollment in the linked Canvas course, not on the email shown in the Members list. Have the student open Nectir AI from the Canvas course itself. If they still can’t access it, contact support@nectir.io with the student’s Canvas email and the email shown in Members
- You can’t link your Canvas course to a Nectir Group → Follow the linking steps to verify you did everything correctly, then contact support@nectir.io
- Nectir AI is missing from the Apps button in the Rich Content Editor, or from the External Tool list when adding a module item → Your Canvas admin needs to enable the deep linking placements
- The embed dialog gets stuck on “Retrieving Content” after you pick an Assistant → Allow third-party cookies, then retry in a private window or a different browser. See the full steps.
- The Embed an Assistant modal opens but your Assistant isn’t listed → The list shows Shared with everyone Assistants and Private or Shared Assistants in Groups you own. If yours is missing, the most likely reason is that it’s a Private or Shared Assistant in a Group where you’re only a member. Ask the Group owner to embed it, or to make you an owner. See the full breakdown for details.
- Your integrations aren’t showing up in the Group settings page → Contact support@nectir.io
